U2415 Service Menu Options

Could someone clarify what some of the options are on the service screen? It popped up totally randomly one time, it totally freaked me out, and I might have hit a few buttons trying to get out of it. Also, do my values generally look OK?

Mostly interested in:

AUTOCOLOR

CLEARUSER

RESETBID (BID shows up as 0) at the top. Is this normal?

Also, where is the factory calibration stored on these monitors? Is it possible to mess it up on this screen?

We do not have any service screen data. Every monitor will have unique data in there. If you changed something in there and do not remember, there is no way to get it back. Yes, you could brick the monitor which would not be covered by the Dell warranty. My advice is to just get out of it.

That's a pretty terrible customer experience.  No directed at you personally.  But I shouldn't be able to access it, let alone by complete accident and without any desire to tweak anything whatsoever other than my brightness.

For about a half an hour I thought there was a serious bug with the menu, but around 30 min of Googling revealed that it's actually a real thing.

I am very surprised that it came up. Normally you have to press a very complicated button combination. Brightness and Color are adjusted in the OSD (On Screen Display), not the Factory Menu.

* Turn the monitor off, then on
* Press the Menu button (3rd from left) to open the OSD (On Screen Display)
* Go to Others -Factory Reset -Reset All Settings (page 47)
* Go up to Brightness/Contrast. Adjust (page 39)
* Go down to Color- Preset Modes
* Choose Custom Color and adjust the Red/Green/Blue (page 42)
