U2421E, not compatible with MK15 dock mounting kit
Dell tech support assures me that the U2421E is compatible with the Dell Docking Station Mounting Kit MK15, but I've spent a couple of hours trying to install it and it sure looks to me that they are not compatible.
My difficulty arises at figure 7 in the MK15 installation guide. There is a mechanical interference that prevents me from rotating the monitor stand downward so as to engage the lower locking tabs.
I'm pretty mechanically handy, and I'll kick myself if I'm doing something stupid, but it sure looks like the U2421E is not compatible with the MK15. I'd sure appreciate any help that the community could offer to either point out the error of my ways or confirm that Dell made a design change with the mount of the U2421E and it is not compatible with the MK15.

I removed the sheet metal cover and that reduced, but did not eliminate, the mechanical interference between the monitor stand and MK15. The reason for that is, beneath the sheet metal circular cover, there is a structural metal circular part that also interferes with the MK15.
Dell advertises the MK15 as "It can be mounted behind monitors with VESA support and is compatible with most Dell UltraSharp and P-series monitors." I think its time for Dell Engineering to inform their Sales and Tech Support personnel the exceptions to that statement.

* The monitor is laying panel down on the desktop/table
* The stand is removed
* You removed the four screws
* You slotted the MK15 into the top two slots and it clicked into place
* You then installed the four screws
* You then inserted the stand back into the top two slots. The weight of the stand base should make it click into place

I was successful up to that step where "The weight of the stand base should make it click into place.". The problem is after I insert the stand into the top two slots, there is a mechanical interference between the stand and the MK15 that prevents the stand from coming down and clicking in place.

"there is a mechanical interference between the stand and the MK15"
Post a picture of the mechanical interference.

I've learned that the MK15 Dock Mounting Bracket is not compatible with the U2421E as shown in the below picture. This is disappointing as this accessory was a reason for selecting Dell. Dell stated on their website that the MK15 was compatible with most Ultra-sharp monitors - so I spent quite a bit of time with two Dell Tech Support people prior to my purchase to confirm its compatibility. They both, after lengthy delays, assured me it was compatible. Very disappointing. I've spent several hours struggling with the MK15 for naught. With just a little effort Dell's website and tech support could have saved me from this effort.

Can you remove the two screws and pull the circular piece off of the stand?
