U2422HE, Ethernet connection dropping, #3

This was driving me nuts as well. 47 units purchased over the last year. Many issues unreported as users laptops connected to these U2422HE network connections would just fall back to WiFi.

Initially they acted as if I was the first to ever report such a problem and ran me through generic troubleshooting steps. After some convincing, the support tech from Dell noted that U2422HE with serial# ending in A04 are known to have this issue an the Realtek driver should be applied. They did not specify if this problem or solutions are exclusive to A04 models.

Now I seem to be having success with the Windows 10 Realtek USB GBE driver downloaded from the Realtek website. Version and date reported in Device Manager are:

10.54.20.608, 6/8/2022

The latest version on Dell’s U2422HE website from 5/24/2022, as well as the previous version from 2/16/2022 are both labelled as A00-00. This conflict can cause problems since a web search may result in the download pages for either version, and has no apparent relation the versions reported by Windows Device Manager. Here are the drivers versions and dates reported in device manager for the Dell downloads:

10.49.20.1102, 11/2/2021

10.50.20.211, 2/11/2022

Neither of these versions resolve the network disconnect issues. So Dell's posted solutions are not working.

We also face the same problem and have tried a few versions from Dell without total satisfaction. It's really been causing us a major headache. Most of our users with problems seem to be using Latitude 5320 laptops. Interestingly I use a MacBook Pro and don't have any issues! We will give this Realtek version a try. Crossing fingers!

By the way, in my experience it does not seem to be limited to *A04 serial numbers.
