U2518D, HDR flickering, not working correctly
1) Problem with Dell HDR monitors and Nvidia Game Ready drivers.
My system
* Monitor: Dell U2518D
* Monitor firmware: M2T103
* Windows 10 Pro latest build
* Video card: ASUS Dual GTX 1070 8GB OC
Dell HDR monitors:
* Dell 27 Ultrathin Monitor (S2718D)
* Dell UltraSharp 27 4K Monitor (U2718Q)
* Dell UltraSharp 25 Monitor (U2518D)
* Dell 24 Monitor (S2418H/HN/HX/NX)
* Dell 27 Monitor (S2718H/HN/HX/NX)
Dynamic HDR ON in monitor settings causes screen to flicker brightly when waking from sleep or turned on while PC running.
Dynamic HDR OFF in monitor settings no flickering when waking from sleep or turned on while PC running
Latest Problem Drivers:
511.72-desktop-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch.hf
511.65-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql
511.65-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql
However, I can roll back to clean installing the following driver which does not experience the flickering problem when waking monitor from sleep with HDR ON.
472.84-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-whql
2) HDR has never worked correctly with this monitor. In Windows. When I watch HDR video or movie or play HDR game with Dynamic HDR ON and HDR Enabled. Picture will go from bright to dark and back to bright every 2 minutes. Making the picture impossible to watch.
I've seen mention there are later firmwares (M2T104 & M2T105) for this monitor that may fix these these problems but since Dell won't release them to the public. We will never know.

I have the Dell U2518D Monitor and HDR has never worked properly from day one. I've noticed that newer firmware versions M2T104 & M2T105 than the currently available M2T103 mentioned in the forums. Unfortunately, Dell saying that they won't publicly release this which is sad. As there are plenty of owners of this model screen asking for it. Why is this? As firmware updates may fix the HDR problems. But since the latest firmware updates were never released. We will never know.

S2718D = never released public firmware
U2718Q = only released firmware M2B102 back in 2018
U2518D = only released firmware M2T103 back in 2018
S2418H/S2418HX = never released public firmware
S2418HN/NX = never released public firmware
S2718H/HX = never released public firmware
S2718HN/NX = never released public firmware
Back when the U2518D were under warranty, the only way to get a newer revision was via a used/refurbished exchange after troubleshooting with DELL-Cares. That was a decision made by the Displays team. We cannot know why. But that is moot since all are out of warranty now.
You might try testing the Nvidia Studio drivers versus the Game Ready drivers.
