U2711, HDMI, 2560x1440?

Has anyone been able to display the full native resolution of 2560x1440 via an HDMI connection?

Dont buy U2711. Go goolge "U2711 problem" and in youtube.

As for your Vostro, sell it buy something else.

Guerdon,

We only support HDMI as a video mode with maximum resolution at 1920x1080. This is the standard on all Dell monitors with HDMI. This is a Product Group and Marketing decision. There are no plans to provide a flash firmware to allow for HDMI at prime mode 2560x1440. Any monitor firmware flashing is generally done in our hubs and only to correct issues. We already offer 2560x1440 when using the DP port or the DVI dual-link port.

Chris,

i just bought 2 laptops: dell 3560.

tech specs:

- intel hd graphics 3000 (2560x1600 is possible according to intel)

- hdmi 1.3 ( 2560X1440 is possible according tot hdmi standards)

i bought 2 u2711 monitor

tech specs:

2560x1440 possible

hdmi 1.3 input available

Will this work automatically while connecting through a hdmi 1.3(high speed) cable?

If not, how can I or any other client of Dell fix this problem.

Are there any instructions on how to flash the monitor firmware in order for clients to use their dell-products in an optimal way?

regards

ezra

I managed to get it working on Lenovo y510p HDMI port using NVIDIA Control panel custom resolution. Key was to use correct resolution (2560x1440) and 'CVT reduced blank' timing option instead of Automatic.
