U2713H, Buzzing Noise, Amazon purchase

I tried almost all settings the menu offers (including factory reset). Please have a look at my first post again, since I did some more research and answered a couple of possible questions (like it has absolutely nothing to do with the used software). I purchased the monitor from Amazon.

Have you reset the monitor to factory defaults? Have you tested in different browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome)? 

You can return it to Amazon for exchange or credit (quicker), or transfer the service tag into your name, address, etc. (10 to 15 business days) and then have Dell issue a like for like monitor exchange.

Thank you for your reply. My main question is: Is this a defect, or is it kind of "normal" with the build-in LG panel? In the meantime, I read a lot about this issue with DELL-monitors of this kind. I've read in some Forums, that LG has reportedly an internal sheet, that states "38db would be normal" :emotion-8:. What I would like to avoid: Getting a new U2713H (with quite a lot of effort) and having the exact problem again. So what do you think? How good is my chance to get a quite U2713H?

I have not seen a firmware fix for noise on the U2713H, only the U2713HM. Can you replicate the noise when using the monitor on another computer? What is the 20 digit serial number? Looks like this,
CN-0D5434-72201-4CL-4FJL

We tested in the lab and could also hear a slight buzzing from the left side as facing the monitor. But we had to place our ear flush with the monitor to hear it. The buzzing was well below the 28dB specification. As you face the monitor, what side is the noise originating?

Yes, I have this slight buzzing from the back-left as well. It is always there and is regardless of the current screen content.

But it has nothing to do with the extremely annoying high-pitch noise which occurs when the screen shows high-contrast images (like a screen filled with "#"). This noise comes more from the middle. I would say, facing the monitor right left from the "DELL" sign or directly behind it on the back. Even from about 15ft distance (right across the room), my wife and me say it's too annoying to work concentratedly.

I recorded a MP3 file with the altering noise when screen content changes, but I'm only allowed to attach 64KB here and my file is about 1,25MB. So if I can send you the file in another way, let me know.

My serial is cn-0c6f0k-74261-3ch-09al - manufactured Dec'13.

In the mean time, I had the chance to have a look at the Fujitsu-P27T. And: Great, it is completely quite. But I really like the DELL more (design, functions, anti-glare). So I would really appreciate if you would say this is a defect which is not "normal behavior", and I could return it to get a quite DELL. But I still don't want to return it just to get the same problem again....

P.S.: I can not imagine, that it has anything to do with the computer, but I will try to get another computer for trying this.

Update:

I tested the behavior with a Lenovo W520 via DP - same result. High-pitched, very annoying buzzing noise coming with much text on the screen.

Good troubleshooting. We are not hearing the loud buzz in the center like you are. Only the soft buzz back-left which is well within our noise specification. Based on our testing in the lab, it appears that your monitor is defective. As I said, you can transfer the service tag into your name and Dell can exchange it or you may simply return it to Amazon and then purchase one directly from Dell.

In the meantime, I received the exchange product from Amazon. Although, it has the same noise, it is much calmer than the first one (I had both in use for a couple of hours and the difference was significant). So with this noise I could live (even though I don't like it).

Unfortunately, I now have to live with a pixel-defect in the upper right corner.:emotion-6:

About two days ago, I felt like the buzzing noise became louder after a couple of hours usage. After "rebooting" the display (turning off and on again), the buzzing was gone. I will keep an eye on this...:emotion-7:

Nevertheless I have decided to keep this one for now. But seriously: You should urgently work on your quality management!

I'd like to point out that I have exactly the same issue on a DELL U2713H Rev. A07.

Is there any news on this from DELL side?

No. We did capture some monitors from customer who stated that they had this noise issue. In our testing, the noise was well below the manufacturer specification of 28dB. You may contact support for your region and arrange a like for like monitor exchange. But the replacement may have the same noise.
