U2713HM Screen Flickering with Vertical Lines

I have two Dell U2713HM monitors and been experiencing the exact same issue as stated in this thread http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19495965.aspx. I went through the troubleshoot and diagnosis step you posted and weren't able to resolve the issues. It keeps coming back on both monitors, usually at different types. The only way to resolve it temporarily is to turn them off over night, which keeps me away from being productive.

Here is a video recording of it happening on one of the monitors.

Please advice on how to get replacements.

Thanks.

HI Chris,

Thanks for the reply. Should I do these while the issue is happening? Like I mentioned in my original post, I did try the steps suggested on the other post, especially BIST, and found that the flickering intensity increased (or seemed to increase) when the grey screen appeared.

Thanks,
Mick

micklerlop,

* Press the Menu button to open the OSD (On Screen Display)
* Open Display Settings
* Highlight Smart Video Enhance
* Change it to Off
* Exit the OSD
* If installed, open the DDM (Dell Displays Manager)
* Click the tab Auto Mode
* For every application listed, change them to Standard
* Retest

BIST (Built-In Self Test)
* The monitor is on
* Disconnect all video cables from the monitor (VGA/DVI/DP/mDP/HDMI,etc.)
* The monitor goes into its self-test mode
* Press and hold buttons 1 and 4 for two seconds. A grey screen appears
* Press button 4 again. A red screen appears
* Press button 4 again. A green screen appears
* Press button 4 again. A blue screen appears
* Press button 4 again. A black screen appears
* Press button 4 again. A white screen appears
* To exit, press button 4
If you do not detect the screen abnormalities, the monitor is functioning properly. The issue lies with the video card, video card ports, video card driver, the display setting, or the cabling.

So during BIST, only the grey had the issue?

Yes, if I remember correctly from two weeks ago. The issue will come back again over the next few days. Do you want me to go through those steps again when it's happening or should I do them when it's NOT happening? Also, when it happens it doesn't go away even if I turn it off or plug it into totally different computers using the provided DVI-D cable or my own display port cable.
