U2715H, auto input select?

Hi all,

So a slightly annoying thing about the Dell U2715H is that it doesn't have an auto input select feature. That is, for example if I connect 2 devices to it - one via HDMI and the other via DP, it should automatically switch between the two depending which one was turned on. I currently have to manually change the input every day (since I have work and personal PCs connected to this monitor).

I have two other monitors - a Benq one a Dell P2419H - and both of these have this feature. Would I be right in assuming that this a software feature and not a hardware one? In which case surely a firmware upgrade can enable it? If not - is there any other workaround?

For any marketing end of life monitor, Dell would not pay the manufacturer to write a new firmware to add functionality that was not present from the beginning. When released in 2015, the U2715H Menu OSD- Input Source was designed by the manufacturer to only show =DPmDPHDMIMHL1HDMIMHL2
