U2719DC, Macbook Pro, going blank issue
Hi All,
I looked through the message board and I don't believe I saw someone bring up this particular issue. If someone already did, and it has been resolved, I appreciate it if the post can be directed to me.
I recently purchased a U2719DC monitor and have it connected to my Macbook Pro using the USB-C cable that came with the the monitor.
My Macbook Pro (16") is a 2019 model running macOS Catalina (10.15.6) and using AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB graphics card system.
With the monitor connected to my laptop (the laptop clampshell is closed) using the provided USB-C cable, the issue I'm seeing is that intermittently the screen will go blank for a second or two and then the picture will come back on its own. This can sometimes happen a couple times in succession or not show up until an hour later (there is no pattern from what I can see). Also it should be noted that when the monitor goes blank, the monitor's power light remained ON the whole time. Sometimes, the monitor will go blank and give me a message indicating that it could not get a signal from the laptop, but then it resolves itself by re-acquiring the laptop signal on its own.
I ran the Built-In Diagnostics (BID) test and the monitor did everything in the steps as indicated here:
https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/Monitor-Reset-Self-Test-Built-in-Diagnostic/td-p/6089261
I also performed a hard reset on the monitor as well (disconnected all power cables and held the power button for 10 seconds).
I used to connect the monitor's power cable into a power strip; that's when it seemed like this "intermittently going blank" issue occurred more often. I then plugged the monitor's power cable into a dedicated outlet, but the issue still persists (maybe a little less frequently).
I don't believe the issue is with my laptop since I have connected it to an LG monitor using their USB-C cable and don't have this issue.
If anyone has any information of what might be the problem or any other ways to troubleshoot this issue, please share.
Thank you for your time.

Read through the sticky, "Dell monitor, Apple FAQ". We can see here that there are no Apple macOS drivers offered. You should read through the U2719DC threads on the Apple Forum. If necessary, start a new thread on the Apple Forum detailing the issue.

Update (9-13-20):
So far, I'm still having this issue with my MacBook Pro. I ran a self-diagnostic on my laptop and it passed with no reported issues. One thing I did try was connect a Precision 7530 Windows-based laptop to the U2719DC to see if the issue remains. As it turns out, the "intermittent going blank" issue does not seem to occur. The laptop that I used is a Dell Precision 7530 running Windows 10 Enterprise with Intel UHD Graphics 630 and NVIDIA Quadro P3200. I connected my MacBook Pro to my existing LG monitor and there are no issues, so that tells me that my MacBook Pro is not at fault. This leads me to believe that perhaps the U2719DC is not compatible with a 2019 MacBook Pro (16"). Maybe down the road there will be updates to the drivers for either the U2719DC (the only driver available are for Windows) or to the graphics card of the MacBook Pro, but as of this moment I don't think they are compatible with each other.
