U2719DC, no USB upstream port?

Hi,

I recently bought the Dell U2719DC monitor and want to connect my keyboard and mouse to the USB ports beneath the monitor. My previous Dell Monitor had a USB upstream port for connecting the monitor to my desktop so that I could use these ports. This new monitor doesn't feature this port. So how do I activate the monitor's USB ports?

Many thanks

Per the U2719DC User's Guide page 9 =

The U2719DC is marketed as a USB-C monitor =
"stylishly thin design with USB-C connectivity"
"Declutter your desk with the included USB-C cable, a single cable solution that transmits power, data, video and audio."

Thanks Chris.

So, if I have my keyboard, mouse and card reader connected to the monitor's USB downstream ports, and want to connect my laptop or other device to the USB-C port on the monitor, I can no longer use any of the peripherals connected to the monitor's USB downstream ports? Or have I misunderstood?

Perhaps I confused you.

To use any of the U2719DC USB 3.0 downstream ports for keyboard, mouse, card reader, the PC must first be connected to the U2719DC via the provided USB Type-C cable. The USB Type-C cable connection takes the place of old USB upstream cable. Once the USB Type-C cable is connected to both, then the U2719DC USB 3.0 downstream ports are turned on.
