U2719DC, work with MacBook Pro 15" ?

Hi All,

I just bought a U2719DC and want to use it with my MacBook Pro and another 1080P monitor.

I found some information about if I use type-c and daisy chain, the second monitor only can support 2048*1080.

I want to know if I use this solution to connect my devices, should I get 65W power too? May I use USB A port in U2719DC to connect keyboard and other device? And how much bandwidth I can get. I think the cable has 20 Gbps.

MacBook Pro TB3 port -> type c - c cable from Dell -> U2719DC type c port

U2719DC DP out port -> DP to HDMI cable -> 1080P monitor

In this connection, may I use the U2719DC as a hub and how much bandwidth is remain? I want to get at least 1Gbps bandwidth.

Thanks

Nope. In a DP MST daisy chain setup, the second monitor must be using either DP in port or mDP in port.

Dell did not test/validate the U2719DC on the proprietary Apple operating system or hardware. The U2719DC driver page only shows Windows drivers. The U2719DC User's Guide only mentions Windows. For troubleshooting on the Apple PC, you should post the issue on the Apple Forum to get assistance from Apple users.

If I contact a TB3 port in Windows? Can I do the same thing?

EricWu12,

In theory, using a Windows PC, yes. See page 30 here =

EricWu12,

The online U2719DC User's Guide does not mention bandwidth. So we do not have that data.

For DP out, may I use DP to HDMI cable. I tried it and does not work. I am not sure if it is cable issue? Or this monitor only support a DP to DP cable between U2719DC and second monitor?
