U2720Q, MacBook, doesn't work through USB-C
Hello,
I've got a Macbook 16". The USB-C on the U2720Q at purchase was working great. Power + display. After a few weeks, whenever I plug in the monitor, I'm only getting power from the monitor charging the laptop and a note saying No USB C signal.
Potential mishaps on my end
1. I plugged in a one-point both the monitor that delivers USB C and my charging cable with USB C
2. There was a MacOS Catalina update 10.15.4
These are the only two "incidents' that could have got the usb-c screen to stop working. Screen works via HDMI.
Problem-solving I've tried.
1. Reset the screen to factory setting
2. Unplug all cables and back in
3. Combination order of 1 & 2
4. NVRAM and SMC reset on MacBook (multiple times)
5. Restart in Safe Mode
What it looks like is that the laptop thinks that the screen is a power source only when connected via USB-C?
Any hint or tips I could try would be great!

Same set up here with 2020 macbook pro. Out of the box the usb-c video worked for about 10 minutes then it's gone. Only usb-C charging remained. Tried windows laptop which normally worked with my other u3219q through usb-C and even that did not work. I think the functionality is fried. Asking for return now.
