U2720Q, randomly turning off the screen

The random U2720Q shutdown appeared on the 2nd day after purchase. The power saving mode is disabled. The U2720Q can only be restarted with the power button.

We see from your motherboard link that it only offers HDMI/DVI-D/VGA.

We see from the online U2720Q User's Guide that an HDMI cable was not sent. Have you tested another HDMI cable?

The prime mode for the U2720Q is 3840x2160 60Hz. Does your Windows 10 display settings and Intel HD control panel offer that resolution and Hz?

4096x2160 24Hz and 2560x1600 60Hz are not shown on U2720Q User's Guide page 12, Preset Display Modes.

My case is the same as described in the link.

The monitor just suddenly goes out. There is no power failure. The computer keeps working. The power indicator light is on. The only way to get the monitor back to work is to press the power button twice (power off and power on again).

I have checked three cables and all of them have a disconnected display. I am using a Dell proprietary cable that worked fine before with another monitor.

The resolution is user selectable and this should not be the reason for the monitor turning off. I chose 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz.

See if Dell will replace it under warranty.  Unlike PC's, monitors don't have any user serviceable parts inside.

I have the same issue, started about 3 weeks ago and happens at least once a day. Did you hear any solution from Dell?

Dell didn't offer a solution. I think we have to wait for the new firmware.

Is there new firmware? I originally reported this 2 years ago (my thread is linked above). I had one monitor replaced but when the issue kept happening with the replacement it was obvious that that wasn't the issue.

After 2 years I've never had this happen on either the DP or USB-C sources, only on the HDMI. I've basically had to stop using the HDMI inputs on these monitors, which is incredibly frustrating. It's crazy to me that this hasn't been fixed by Dell

Same problem here. It started happen on HDMI after installing Dell Display Manager 2.2. Not sure if it is related. It may worth mentioning by other users if they have installed Dell Display Manager as it may cause the issue.
