U2720Q, Red corners still a problem?
I've been looking for a new monitor. Build quality concerns over my current Acer(Audio out died in a whopping 32 days). Was looking at LG, but I found 1. they have a pathetic warranty, and 2. there were issues with red corners appearing on the screen. Often shortly after that warranty expired. So running out of options, I remembered my U2311H. Probably the best monitor I've owned. So while it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, I decided the peace of mind was worth the extra money. So yesterday, I bought the U2720Q.
Today, I'm looking for more information on this monitor, and I saw that the U2718Q had these very same red corner issues that the LG's have. Likely using the same panel. From my understanding, this issue is an eventuality. It will eventually happen to every single monitor with those panels. Obviously not good.
TL;DR So my question is does the U2720Q use the same LG panel as the U2718Q and the other LG monitors that have this red corners issue? Is it still an LG panel at all? If so, has the issue been fixed?
I really just want to buy a solid monitor and forget about for another 5 or so years, like I did with my U2311H. If it still will be a problem, what about the U2520D? That should be safe? While well beyond what I wanted to pay, maybe the U3219Q?

I got a response from a reddit thread I asked this in here. In case Dell deletes the link (Why do you think that we would we delete the link? DELL-Chris M) :
me: "The documentation for the U2720Q says that it's 3.5mm Audio Out port only support audio coming from either the USB-C cable or the DP cable. No mention of the HDMI cable."
owner: "USB-C I can't tell, but both DP and HDMI work."
I'm still not quite satisfied though and would like an official response from Dell. I emailed sales I think 2 days ago about this and still no response. I'm buying a monitor today by 1 ET (~40mins), and it's either going to be this Dell or an HP that I know has this function. Hopefully, we'll get an official answer soon.
EDIT: Just an update, posted the same question to the product page and received this answer:
"Yes, I have a laptop running through HDMI and I still get audio out of the audio port."
So while Dell has been absolutely worthless, these 2 individuals seem to have answered the question. If the staff can't answer this basic question, I doubt the panel questions will be answered. So I'm gonna mark this as the solution.
EDIT2: And went with an HP Z series for anyone interested. 2 out of 2 cases of terrible support outweigh the 1 good monitor. Batting .000.

Just to add a couple things. The exact panel in the U2718Q appears to be the LG LM270WR5-SSA1. I'm not sure if that's in any way helpful(or accurate), but figured I'd add it in case it is.
Also, while reading the U2720Q documentation, I noticed this line describing the audio out port.
"Connect speakers to playback audio coming through USB Type-C or DP audio channels."
HDMI is conspicuously absent. I'm curious if that's an oversight or it really doesn't support HDMI audio?

I have the same question about HDMI audio output.
I'm planning to buy this monitor, but I would like to use it with several video sources and one audio output.
Will it work with HDMI as well, or only with DP and USB-C, as it described in manual?

The HP also has the same issue. Heard if it’s manufactured after 2020 it should be fix. Check the sticker in the back
