U2721DE, true 8 bit or FRC?

Does the U2721DE use dithering? Or is it true 8 bit?

Static contrast window is SDR (typical 1000:1 range for IPS), so it does not matter.
Really, it does not matter at all, even if you want 10bit in Photoshop because 10bit in Photoshop is not meant to show you 1024 shades of gray, but avoid banding caused by Photoshop truncation/rounding errors while color managing & rendering.

My question isn't related to photoshop actually, but I can see why you would think that.

Anyone know for certain if this monitor is true 8 bit or uses FRC?

The online User's Guides have never state bit. It states "Color depth" of 16.7 million colors. Dell has only ever showed "Color depth" usage =
6 bit = 262 thousand colors
8 bit = 16.7 million colors
10 bit = 1.07 billion colors

You will need to use some 3rd party software to identify the exact panel. Then look up the panel on the manufacturer website to get further panel data.

I see! Thanks.

Anyone know a third party software to identify the panel?

Third party software identifies monitor as "DEL41DD", so that doesn't really solve anything.
