U2723QE, have the ability to work as a hub with the UAD Apollo Twin X Interface with a MacBook?

Hello,

The title says it all! There lies the question. I tried with a USB C to USB C cable on the port at the bottom of the monitor and the left port on the back, while having selected the Dell Monitor as the audio output on my Macbook, and got no sound to come out of my studio monitors (big external studio speakers). The UAD Interface does work when directly plugged into my Macbook though with the same cable.

Dell has never tested, "UAD Apollo Twin X" so we have no way of knowing if it works on our monitor.

The U2723QX/U2723QE/U3223QE USB-C ports are USB 3.2 Gen2 10 Gbps. It never states that they are Thunderbolt 3.

The online Apollo Twin X manual specifically states =

Ah..  ok..  Tech support also confirmed that it’s not possible. They conveyed that I could get a thunderbolt dock though and that that would work and accomplish my goal of connecting one wire into my Mac and everything being connected.
