U2723QE, Mac Studio M1 Max, DDPM broken again
There seems to be a complete lack of testing for new versions of this app. I have a U2723QE, was working fine. A few days ago a new version comes out so I download upgrade like a fool on my Mac Studio. Every time I switch to the Studio, all the menu items are disabled and I have to restart DDPM to be able to switch back to my laptop. Every single time. So I try going back to the earlier version listed on the site: doesn't work at all. I try to find the version I had previously had, now every time I launch DDPM it crashes. Installed the new version of DDPM, that crashes too. Backtrace is:
2023-02-02 14:02:08.750 DDPM[1773:18739] -[__NSArrayM objectForKeyedSubscript:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x60000267d920

Argggg! I tried following the manual instructions to clean up old versions, those don't help, it still crashes.

We need more data from you.
What macOS, 12 Monterey, 13 Ventura?
What specific macOS DDPM version was working?
What specific macOS DDPM version is not working?
The U2723QE drivers page only shows macOS DDPM versions =
1.1.0.0033, January 17, 2023
1.0.2.0019, November 2, 2022

The problem I have using USB for video input is HDMI and DP allows for the max refresh rate, USB does not.

Ventura, 13.1
DDPM version 1.0.2.0019 is now working for me fine and is now working again, modulo another issue.
DDPM version 1.1.0.0034 -- not 0033 -- was what got downloaded and installed on my Studio. This did not work on the Studio except the first time I would switch from the Studio back to the laptop, every subsequent time all the menu items were disabled and the Input tab of the UI was inaccessible, the keyboard switch was disabled. When I restarted it it would work once. So, the situation is better, but not perfect: 1.0.2.0019 has had a problem where it spontaneously switches from the Studio to the laptop, it happened 3 times as I was typing this paragraph. Irritating.
I was able to go back to 1.0.2.0019 by using pkgutil --forget on both Qisda.pkg.DDM and Qisda.pkg.DDPM, after which I could install 1.0.2.0019 and it doesn't show that backtrace I got it by running the binary directly. Both of these of course are things a typical Mac user is unlikely to know to try.
I do have 1.1.0.0034 -- again, not 0033 -- on my laptop, and it does not have the disabling problem the Studio had. So there are a couple of mysterious things here:
* Why when I'm notified "there is a new version available" does it download the wrong, subsequent version than what is available on the website? This seems to be the second time this has happened, my earlier problem was also that the "click to download" button was selecting the wrong version. Its as if prerelease betas are being uploaded to the directly and the website curates to get the production version but the app download button just takes whatever is newest.
* why is it spontaneously switching? This happened before, and my motivation for switching to the newer version was in hope of fixing this. Now I'm afraid of upgrading however.

Are you saying that the Mac Studio M1 Max USB-C video out port via the provided 1M USB-C to USB-C cable to the U2723QE #5 USB-C port cannot do the required 3840x2160 60Hz?
We only host macOS DDPM versions 1.1.0.0033 and 1.0.2.0019 on our site. Updating macOS DDPM from within the software goes to their site for the update, not ours.

I was surprised too. If you look at the table of resolutions on page 16 of the user manual you will see that UHD is supported at 30hz, and 60hz is only supported with either HDMI or DP. So I had to connect USBC for the KVM to the laptop and Studio, then have separate video over HDMI and DP.
So, if the link from within the DDPM software goes to a download site that includes unsupported versions of the software, that would seem like a bug. This is the second time I've been bit by this: the first, the software downloaded a prerelease version that broke the ability to remember keyboard shortcuts.

All I know is, I have my MacBook 16" Pro 2019 on the USB-C port and the DP port. When I use the UBC-C port, I get 30hz; when I use the DP port I get 60hz. Was driving me nuts at 30hz so I bought a USB-C to DP cable to fix the problem

I think the chart on page 16 U2723QX/U2723QE/U3223QE User's Guide is misleading. The #5 USB-C Gen 2/DP 1.4 (video + data) port can do 4K 3840x2160 60 Hz =

Not to be confused with #8 USB-C upstream (data) port and #15 USB-C downstream (data) port.

Also, I tried upgrading to 0033 and 0034 and it has the same problem as 0034, after one switch to the other input, when I come back I have to restart DDPM every time because most of the app is disabled.

I'm having some recurring problems with this.
I'm running the latest firmware version M2T104.
