U2913WM, binking on and off

As of this morning, my U2913WM monitor is blinking on and off, and I don't know how to diagnose or fix the problem. The monitor is connected to an Alienware m15 R3 laptop. This is what I've experienced and tried:

1. The monitor was connected to the PC using a DisplayPort cable, mainly without incident, from March 2021 to now.

2. This morning, after following the auto diagnostics routine recommended in the User Guide, I connected the monitor using HDMI. It was fine for a few minutes, but then started having the exact same issue again.

So... I don't think the Alienware laptop is the issue, given that both ports are behaving exactly the same way. And, when I switch to the laptop only, the video is fine. Here are the specs for the PC, if that is of help:

Alienware m15 R3
i7-10750h
16 GB DDR4 RAM
NVidia RTX 2070 Super

This has happened sporadically for the 6ish years I've owned the monitor with two different computers, but never like this. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on and, if so, is there a solution to the issue? Any help would be great.

Thanks Chris. I appreciate the outreach. I have a power strip that, for some bizarre reason, has multiple types of plugs. Once I switched the monitor to "always on" [who would want otherwise ;-)] it worked fine. I guess there was some aberrant power stuff going on that was cutting power off to the monitor. Seems fine now.

For this out of warranty monitor, try this below, maybe it will reset it.

No cables, power button reset
* Turn the PC off
* Turn the monitor off
* Disconnect every cable (including the power cable) from the monitor
* Press the monitor power button in for 8 seconds (clears any residual power in the circuits). If not a mechanical power button, just wait 8 seconds
* Reconnect the power cable and one video cable to the monitor and PC
* Turn the monitor on, then the PC and retest
