U2913WM, Unsupported audio format message, Alienware laptop

"Dell U2913WM. Unsupported audio format, Please set the audio output on your audio player to Pulse-code modulation (PCM) if available"

This annoying message sporadically pops up on my monitor while working on it. I'm not even listening to audio. I don't see why there should be any incompatibility since I am using HDMI output from my Dell Alienware laptop running Windows 10. I would be grateful to find a way of turning this off or fixing the incompatibility between two Dell products.

The U2913WM audio out jack is for 2.0 channel audio connection from the source HDMI 1.4 or DisplayPort 1.2. The U2913WM does not control the audio entering it from the laptop. This is controlled by the audio settings in the laptop. Repost your question on the Alienware Forum board to get instruction on how to change the laptop audio out through its HDMI out.

I have the same issue. Sporadic message, sometimes like 50x per hour, sometimes like 1x week. Now it is again much worse.

Two Dell U2414H monitors, first through HDMI, second through Mini Display Port. Only the HDMI one does it. Win 10, Radeon RX570, latest drivers. Sound through

Even with previous PC having 5 years older Radeon and different CPU, the same was happening. I have exchanged the cable 2x already.

How can I resolve this for timebeing, please?
