I have two U3014 monitors. One works flawlessly. The other frequently goes catatonic after powering on or switching video mode (e.g. DPMS). I submitted a service request and the refurbished replacement had the same issue.
After extensive experimentation, I discovered that the monitor worked if I connected it to an EMI/RFI power strip plugged to a DIFFERENT electrical outlet. It is VERY susceptible because it wouldn't work if I plugged the power strip into the same electrical outlet.

For the record, I'm also using the dual-link DVI.
