U3219Q, MacBook Air, USB Type-C not working
I just got a U3219Q and I'm trying to connect my late 2015 MacBook Air to it via the USB-C input on the U3219Q. It doesn't seem to be working. I'm getting "no USB-C signal from the device". This doesn't really make much sense to me as "USB-C" is not a signal, I assume its is expecting using USB 3.1 (this is very vague on the U3219Q specs as it doesn't really say, but the USB-C input has a DP logo on it).
So is this connection possible? Currently, I'm using a USB-C to miniDP adapter, but it seems these really are for converting USB-C output connectors to miniDP monitor inputs. Google only really returns results for USB-C to DP/miniDP.
Seeing the specs only refer to the monitor being DP 1.2 compatible I kind of just assumed this would work. Maybe I need a USB-C cable to miniDP.

Got it working with this cable and a DP to miniDP adapter. I'm not exactly what it was, but I looked for something that mentioned "bi-directional".

Thanks for posting your fix for the Apple hardware and operating system.
Are you saying that the provided U3219Q USB Type-C cable (USB 3.1 Gen 2) did not work in these setups?
* MacBook Air TB1 out port --> U3219Q USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable --> U3219Q USB Type-C in port
* Press the U3219Q Input Source button, choose/check the top USB Type-C
* MacBook Air TB2 out port --> U3219Q USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable --> U3219Q USB Type-C in port
* Press the U3219Q Input Source button, choose/check the top USB Type-C
Using that Moshi cable, can you spell out as shown above how the two (MacBook Air and U3219Q) are currently connecting? I am not sure where the mDP adapter comes into play? Did you try this?
* MacBook Air TB1 out port --> Moshi USB-C to DP cable --> U3219Q DP in port
* Press the U3219Q Input Source button, choose/check DP
* MacBook Air TB2 out port --> Moshi USB-C to DP cable --> U3219Q DP in port
* Press the U3219Q Input Source button, choose/check DP
