U3223QZ MacBook Compatibility Issues - Webcam, Presence Sensing, DDPM

Dell U3223QZ

Dell U3223QZ

Having issues with both of these monitors (specifically the webcams, presence sensing and DDPM Software) with our MacBook Pros. We have a P2724DEB connected to a Windows machine and it does far better with few to no issues. Verified the MacBook Pros are setup correctly and the right ports are being used. The webcam won't maintain settings when the DDPM app is not selected. We primarily use Teams, but some other apps for many virtual meetings, and the camera settings won't consistently stay. The camera also won't appropriately and automatically adjust even though it's set to. The monitors are good but the camera integration has been a huge frustration and disappointment, also the quality is surprisingly poor with bad focus, tracking and very grainy much of the time despite good lighting. It performs worse when there's a lot of light in the room than when it's dark (I have a background in photo/video/lighting so I know how to adjust these things). We've had to spend more money to add yet another camera to our setups because the built in one is so buggy. Furthermore, the DDPM software won't appropriately update or install firmware. Wondering if any other Apple users have been experiencing these same issues, have found fixes and/or that Dell is working to improve this. At this point I'd love to be able to return the monitors for one without the cameras but they're past the 30 day mark.

To receive assistance from Dell support agents they need to first verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private monitors Service Tag and 20 digit serial numbers with them.

Post the issues on the Apple Forum to get further troubleshooting.

What macOS is on the MacBook Pros? We currently only support DDPM with 11 Big Sur, 12 Monterey, 13 Ventura.

What version of DDPM is currently installed on the MacBook Pros?

A monitor firmware should be installed from the standalone file from the desktop. Not through the DDPM software.

Used to love Dell but now I'm done with them forever and won't ever furnish my offices with their products. Sure hope I can sell the equipment that I have because they should have never been marketed as working with Macs.  Silly me thought they could at least get the monitors with speakers and webcams right but <Profanity is never allowed on our Forum. DELL-Admin> NOPE. Their IT support and customer service are some of the worst I have EVER encountered, that's been the worst part about it. Taken together, they've permanently lost a customer and I'll be spreading the word.
