U3415W, broken screen

my kid was using the computer and he accidentally broke the monitor. I searched every where to find replacement panel, but cannot find any information.

I contacted Dell support and Dell basically said these monitors cannot be repaired or fixed. Its hard to believe that $800 monitors are similar to use and throw devices.

Any help to fix the screen is appreciated. Monitor is 9 month old and I do not have accidental damage warranty.

Thanks

Unfortunately, Dell does not repair monitors, sell monitor components, or have disassembly documentation. All you can do is check eBay or Craigslist for someone selling just the panel as parts.

Its sad to see industry is moving towards "use and throw" concept. There are no options to repair $800 monitor, but Dell constantly sells refurbished monitors. Wonder how Dell gets replacement parts for "refurbished" ones.

Very disappointed.

Dell does not get the replacement parts. A returned monitor is sent back to the manufacturer by Dell. They either repair it there at the factory and send it back to us, or they dispose of it. This is not a new trend. I have been at Dell since 1997. We have never offered monitor panels or internal parts.
