U3417W, Precision 7510, Dock, Audio
I have the following setup:
Dell Precision 7510
Connected with USB-C to Henge Dock which is Connected via mDP to U3417W
There is no sound coming from monitor when selecting the Dell U3417W Sound Output.
I have tried a factory reset but this makes no difference. When I try to play through the monitor speaker I hear no sound (fully turned up) however I see the the levels changing:
The device is working ok when I by pass the dock and looks like it is probably a dock issue but any help appreciated.

Fixed - Hadn't done the obvious and powercycled the dock to get it working
Thanks Chris for efforts.

What specific Henge dock? What operating system is on the Precision 7510? Did the Henge dock provide any drivers for the operating system?
The U3417W Menu -Audio has =
Volume, Audio Source, Speaker
Assuming that Speaker is set to Enable and Audio Source is set to Main.

I am leery of the fact that the Stone is advertised as,
"Designed for your MacBook"
"That means a full 87 watts is available for your MacBook over USB-C"
"Stone is the only full featured USB-C dock designed specifically for your MacBook, and it shows. From the solid metal body finished in Space Gray, to the top of the line performance specs, we designed every detail with the MacBook in mind. There is no dock better suited for your MacBook."
Does all of that mean that they did not test on Windows operating system?
So the setup I would test is =
* Stone dock has its 135w AC adapter connected to it
* Precision 7510 has its AC adapter connected to it
* Precision 7510 USB-C out port --> USB-C to USB-C cable --> Stone dock USB-C in port
* Stone dock mDP --> U3417W mDP to DP cable --> U3417W DP in port
* U3417W USB upstream port --> U3417W USB upstream cable --> Stone dock USB port

Hi Chris - Specifically it's the Stone: https://hengedocks.com/pages/tethered-docks
No drivers were provided.
Speaker is set to Enable and Audio Source is set to Main.
Thanks!

Tested as suggested which involved switching a DP->DP (with mDP adapter) for a DP ->mDP cable however no change.
I have also logged a ticket with Henge since I am also seeing the same behaviour with MacOS using my MacBook Pro.
Any further suggestions?
Any idea what driver the monitor audio might need or does this work some other way over USB-C.

The operating system controls the U3417W audio from the Precision 7510 USB-C out port (video & audio). The U3417W piggybacks on it. As to how the dock interprets this, no clue. The only U3417W driver we offer is here. It adds the INF/CAT/ICM for the operating system to use. This way the operating system Device Manager correctly identifies the U3417W.

Awesome! By power cycled, do you mean that you disconnected the power cable from the dock, then reconnected it?
