U3421WE, connection with MacBook Pro 2015
Hi
I'm trying to connect my Dell U3421WE monitor to my MacBook Pro (early 2015) on MacOS Monterey 12.6 and am having a few challenges.
I'm using a DP to Thunderbolt cable to connect (no adapters in between) which allows me to mirror/extend the display, But I can't get any of the USB devices connected to the Dell monitor to work.
I've also tired a HDMI to HDMI which had the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated/suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks

"I'm using a DP to Thunderbolt cable to connect (no adapters in between)"
Explain. Does that mean MacBook TB out --> TB to DP cable --> U3421WE DP in?
If yes, you must also connect the provided USB-B to USB-A cable between the U3421WE and MacBook.
All,
When connecting to the U3421WE via HDMI in port or DP in port, you must also connect the provided USB-B to USB-A cable between the PC and U3421WE.

The cable is DP out from the monitor to Thunderbolt in to the MacBook Pro. Also I think we are talking about the same cable when you say USB A to USB B (see image of the cable I'm using)

That is a DP to mDP video cable.
The U3421WE USB-B to USB-A cable looks like this one.
It plugs into #8 as shown on page 11.

The MacBook doesn't have this port so I this won't work
