U3818DW, KVM working for MacBook Pro, not Dell Precision?
I'm using this monitor with my 16" 2019 Macbook Pro, and a Dell Precision 5540 laptop. When I'm viewing my MacBook Pro it recognizes the mouse and keyboard that I have plugged into the monitor. But when I switch to the Dell laptop, it won't recognize either, so I have no way to control it without opening it up and using the touchpad and keyboard. That's not a usable option for me, so hoping there's a way to fix that. I would think connecting the Dell monitor to a Dell laptop would be fairly straightforward?
I'm connected to the Macbook Pro using the USB Type-C cable. I'm connected to the Dell laptop using the HDMI cable. That appears to be the only option for that one.
Thanks!

Below is from the online U3818DW User's Guide page 55.
Macbook Pro TB3/USB Type-C out port --> U3818DW USB Type-C to C cable --> U3818DW USB Type-C in port
Precision 5540 HDMI out port --> U3818DW HDMI to HDMI cable --> U3818DW HDMI in 3-1 port

Precision 5540 USB A port --> U3818DW USB 3.0 upstream cable --> U3818DW USB 3.0 upstream 7-1 port

THANK YOU!!! It wasn't clear to me that I needed to use a seperate USB upstream cable. I connected that up and all is working perfectly. So thank you very much.
