U3818DW, KVM

I have Dell UltraSharp 38" Curved Monitor: U3818DW with the USB Hub and internal KVM switch.

It's a brilliant monitor for my needs. However....

Switching inputs is a major pain because of the number of steps, compared with my TESmart KVM Switch where it all happens with one button press.

Is there an IR solution (could hang off one of the Monitor's USB 3 ports) that could be integrated so that the process of switching over wasn't at least three steps?

I use the KVM without any pain.

I have 2 computers connected, one by HDMI one by DP. I just use the "Personalize menu" to set "Shortcut Key 1" to HDMI and "Shortcut Key 2" to Display Port.

When I want to switch just use the right hand, click on key 1 or 2 then the input picture comes up. A second click chooses the right input to switch.

So the fastest way ist: Press Key 1 twice or Key 2 twice and you have switched.

So it is again a One Button solution with 2 times press. Nice for me.

I have never seen anything like this (USB IR solution) in our Displays Lab. If it exist, users like you would have to find and test it.
