U3818DW, Mac mini, USB-C port stopped functioning, FIXED
I thought I would post this to help someone in the future from buying a new video cable resetting SMC, NVRAM etc.
I used the Factory Reset option in the monitor OSD menu to fix the USB Type-C port not working. Shown on page 48 in the online U3818DW User's Guide.
I use a Mac mini connected to the U3818DW through the USB Type-C. Suddenly upon a reboot of my Mac mini the monitor failed to sync up but switching over to HDM did work. I suspected it was a cable that went bad since it was late at night and I have a Prime account so I ordered a new cable. When that arrived the next day I tried it and it still failed so I borrowed my wife's Mac book Pro to see if it would work on the USB Type-C. It failed to work as well so I then believed the monitor port had gone bad. As I was reprogramming the buttons I use to switch between systems I noticed the Factory Reset and thought why not, I'll have to reprogram it all anyways, the Factory Reset kicked the USB Type-C back into action. I now see there are resets throughout the menu and you maybe able to just reset a certain component. I don't know but this worked out for me and now I have an extra USB Type-C monitor cable.

I just spent two days trying to figure this same problem out. Updating the drivers fixed the issue for 1 day but as soon as I disconnected the USB C the problem was back. Finally came across this post in my search and after the Factor Reset, all appears to be functioning correctly! Thank you so much!
