U3824DW, can't install DDPM driver

We have a user that has

  • Monitor - Dell U3824DW
  • Laptop - Surface Laptop for Business 7th Edition with Intel
  • Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 5 236V (8 virtual) (X64)
  • Webcam - Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam

The camera keeps flickering when user is in Teams or Zoom call. We installed all the possible drivers except DDPM, as it keeps failing install.

Getting error: Installation failed - DCS (1603)

Camera works perfectly fine when plugged in directly to laptop. This suggests the issue is monitor?

Well ensure you're downloading from the official Dell Support website

For direct Dell Technical Support Monday through Friday, Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private U3824DW Service Tag with them and all your troubleshooting. This will in turn generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag.

Data you will need to get from the user =

* List all video out ports on the Surface
* How is the user connecting the U3824DW (HDMI 1/HDMI 2/DP/USB-C) to the Surface using which ports and cables?
* Has the user tested the Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam on all five U3824DW USB-A ports?
