U4025QW, aggressive Auto Brightness
Will Dell be releasing an update to not have the auto brightness be very aggressive? I find that in multiple light setting scenarios at my desk, the monitor will adjust brightness too low. I have tried various auto brightness ranges (high, medium, low) and all levels are dimming the monitor too much.

Hi everyone,
The firmware update is now available for the U2725QE and U3225QE models. Please check your devices and update accordingly.
If possible, let us know whether the new firmware resolves the auto-brightness issue on these models.
For the U4025QW model, auto brightness sensitivity cannot be adjusted via firmware. As a result, no firmware update will be released for this specific model.

Like you, all we can do is periodically check the online U4025QW Drivers & Downloads page to see if a firmware is offered.
Test the three levels (Low/Medium/High) in Menu --> Brightness/Contrast --> Auto Brightness Range Level.
If still an issue, set Menu --> Brightness/Contrast --> Auto Brightness to Off.

I like the idea of dimming based on ambient lighting as my home office is quite bright during the day, so the brightness setting during the day is blindingly bright at night. However, the Dell auto adjustments are consistently too dim to be useful. Can the interface be modified to allow an offset to be specified?

Regarding the price of the product, the least I had expected was a decent auto brightness control. The way it is at the moment is not just poorly tuned, it's absolutely useless.
Is it going to be fixed soon?

I have this exact same problem. I like the idea of auto dimming, but it is WAY too low. I'm getting a brightness of 9% when the ambient light is low (but not dark!), and it looks very bad, strains my eyes. I like this product a lot, but since I paid for it about $2400 (locally in my country), I would expect it'll have a much more versatile auto dimming control. This can still be implemented, so please consider this.

Having the same problem as others mentioned. The auto brightness does work but the setting is constantly way too low to be used. Either fix this or allow us to apply an offset so each one of us can change it according to his needs.

I just tried the newest firmware (M3T103) - no obvious change to this annoying behavior. It seems like it would be a trivial fix. Is there any way to get this issue logged for a future fix? This is an expensive monitor for professionals and this obvious flaw should be embarrassing for Dell.

I have same problem, my room has low lights and auto brightness just make it keep staying at around 9~12 percent at night time and not go up over 50 percent in the afternoon. It must be not that big deal for dell to make it better.. had this monitor for 4 months - but it seems still no updates for it.

Same problem. Auto brightness is often to low and does not allow any adjustment. MacBook screen is always a little bit brighter and much easier to read.

7 months, and still no solution. It's a really simple software patch, guys. At the very least add some sort of offset to the dimming percentage, it's a quick fix that'll satisfy most of us. I don't think that an important feature of a $2000 premium screen should be this unusable.

I have the same issue on my new U3225QE. I'm in my office at 4:30pm with white slatted blinds drawn. The room light are out but I can still easily read anything in a book or magazine. The auto brightness is at 8% which is way to dim to write compute code in dark mode. I turned it off and set brightness to 30% to reduce eye strain. :(
Dell should let the user set the lower and upper limits and do away with low/medium/high.
