Unknown hardware, after installing Dell 2407WFP-HC

Question

Hi all,   I just installed this monitor, when it first came on & did plug N' play, everything was fine. After I installed the latest driver, to get the resolution up to 1920x1200, when I rebooted the PC, I now have an unknown in my Device manager. I've tried letting the hardware wiz have a crack at it, a few times, & now I've come here.   Is there a driver set for all the other hardware, this beast has for XP pro SP2?   TIA,     Latidude   2407WFP-HC is Running on XP PRO SP2 ASUS A8N-SLI Athlon 4200+ X2 @ 2.8Ghz 2x 400GB Cavier 16SE's (RAID enabled for SATA II speed, no array) 320MB EVGA 8800GTS(second one on the way.)

latidude_2025, Is 2407 listed in the device manager? if not, reinstall the driver again and restart the PC.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is listed as

Device Manager>Monitors>2407WFP-HC(digital)

This new unknown device is listed under

"Other Devices" with a big Yellow ? next to it.

I did have a try with the SD card, and it works, but I figured it would, since a (M) Removable Disc and (N) Removable Disc, appeared under the (L) removable Disc

which I know is, my epson printer's

PS. I'm going to have a run at it with the Driver CD which came with the MOBO. I guess it might be possible something was knocked out or corrupted during the install, and when I let it go to the www

to look for an update, it still doesn't find anything.

I'll let you know if this changes anything.
