UP2414Q, DP1.2, Dell Color Calibration Solution states, "USB not detected"?

Chris DCCS version 1.5.2.2 With displayport 1.2, the color calibration software instructs to connect the usb cable to the monitor despite the fact that it is already connected. Using displayport 1.1, the ultrasharp color calibration solution will detect the monitor and calibration can continue. Tried different usb ports with the same result. All usb ports on the monitor work. I am using an AMD firepro W5000 graphics card with the latest drivers. Just to note, the retail x-rite version of the color calibration software works without issues.

ABerlinger,

Test the Dell version 1.5.1 on DP 1.2.

No fix at present. This has been escalated. Perhaps the new version coming out will address this. For now, calibrate using DP 1.1. When the new version is released, I will post it here.

Nope. I have never seen that issue.

Chris new version does not solve usb detection of monitor for x-rite application. Other issues noted is that the amd catalyst disables the choice of 10 bit color when in displayport 1.2. 10 bit color is only available under displayport 1. AMD said that the monitor is not identifying itself as a 10 bit monitor.

We think that the calibration software checks for monitor information in the Windows Registry. We believe the problem may be due to multiple monitor parameters in the Windows Registry and how Windows updates the information in the registry.
As a temporary workaround, try this:
1. connect the UP2414Q to the PC, set the monitor to DP1.1a (Disable DP1.2) via OSD. Reboot the PC
2. set the monitor to DP1.2 (Enable DP1.2) via OSD. Reboot the PC
3. Start the Dell Ultrasharp Color Calibration software

Chris Same problem. What registry settings are you looking for?

We are not looking for the registry entries. By doing those steps, you should fix them automatically.

ok, but the problem was not resolved by following the workaround.

I can confirm the problem also exists on the latest Mac OS Version under 10.9.  Display is not detected via USB, and the calibration cannot proceed.  The error occurs regardless of DP 1.2 being on or off.

Chris: Is there an update being developed to the dell x-rite calibration application to resolve the USB connection not detected?

I do not have access to what EnTech is working on. They just provide us the new software and we test it.
