UP3216Q, vertical green line

I have a Dell model UP3216Q monitor. A few days ago a very narrow, green vertical line started appearing on my screen. It runs from top to bottom and is centered left-right. Everything else on my screen appears normal.

I saw another message here from someone else who had the same problem with this monitor. The recommendation for them was to run something called “JScreenFix.” Apparently that worked for them.

I ran JscreenFix following all of the given instructions. When I completed the process my green line was gone -- for about 15 seconds and then it was back. I ran the entire JScreenFix process again and once again the green line was gone and once again it came back a few seconds later.

What can/should I do now?

Chris,

This is a follow-up to your message to me on 10/27/22 about how to deal with the vertical green line I’ve had on my UP3216Q monitor for about the past week. So far, nothing I have done has fixed the problem. As you suggested…

I ran the “No cables, power button reset.” The green line remains.

I then ran the Built-in Diagnostics. I followed the instructions in my user manual. I did not see any screen abnormalities on any of the different colored screens. The green line remains.

Prior to doing either of the above I connected the monitor to another PC. Nothing changed, the green line remains. I then connected the monitor to yet anotuer PC. The green line remains. The fact that the monitor has the exact same problem when connected to three different PCs tells me the problem is in the monitor, not the PCs.

What now?

Peter

What now?
We never received the private UP3216Q Service Tag to "verify" when the 3 year warranty started and ended. If out of warranty, the only thing you can is replace it. It will be difficult find a replacement LCD panel but you could check eBay.

Chris,

I thought the service tag number was sent as part of my original message. I guess not. How do I send to you privately?
