VERY CONFUSED ABOUT SERVICE
January 29th, 05
To Whom It May Concern:
I just bought a Dell LCD 1704FP Monitor. Everything seemed fine until I tried the tilt (90o) option. The screen tilts manually but the system stays put, making one look sideways to read it. I called tech support and spoke with 4 different techs by having to call 4 X's. Finally the last tech said I needed to change my current video board, he said I must call Dell sales. I did call this morning and again had to dial in three different times as I was disconnected 2 X's and outright hung up on by the representatives. One tech support rep. told me I could return the LCD. I know I can return it but I wanted dell to help me make sure of what I need to do or get? I have many dell products and have never experienced this. My customer # is 196090551. I am using a Dell 4100, 4700, and a 3000, noe of them support this monitor 100%. PLEASE HELP............

West Coast Connections,
It is important to understand that this forum is a "peer-to-peer" discussion forum. While Dell moderators occasionally jump in, they usually just keep track of the conversations to prevent flaming, inappropriate posts, etc... This is not a proper forum to get anything resolved with Dell. This is where other Dell users, customers and technicians can post questions and get answers from each other.
Your issue should be brought up either in a Customer Care forum or by calling Dell Customer Care directly. Since this is a public forum, it may not be advisable to publish your customer number, service tag number or any other personally identifying information on this forum.
As to helping resolve your problem -- Is my understanding correct that you have physically tilted the display 90 degrees and that you now want to tilt the image 90 degrees? Or do you need assistance in tilting the display back to normal? Please also provide the following information:
What model computer is this display attached to?
Which Windows are you using on this computer?
What video card is installed in this computer?
