WD19TBS, what active adapters are needed?

On the rear of the WD19TBS Docking Station is a USB-C port labeled as "DP" and identified in the documentation as "USB 3.1 Gen1/Gen2 USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4".

Does this #3 port port need an Active or Passive Adapter to connect to a monitor with a DVI input?

I have read that "DP++" ports do Not require Active Adapters for DVI or HDMI.

It is not clear if a port labeled "DP" (with no "++") requires an Active Adapter to connect to the DVI (or HDMI) port of the monitor.
