Weird problem with 2407wfp

Hello, I recently purchased a 2407wfp however I have noticed an odd thing. When I scroll through websites for example, the edges where distinct colours meet such as grey and white, a very light red or green bar will trail from the edge. It's very noticable for example when scrolling through feedback on eBay. Turning down the colours from 100 each to 80 each basically solves the problem but I was just wondered what was the problem. Gaming is fine and so is video, its just website scrolling. Thanks for any response.

I think I know what you're talking about - basically it should look white but some pattern causes colors to show while scrolling. I can't quite figure out exactly what causes it but I suspect it's related to how fast the image is refreshed on the screen. I can live with it tho - the monitor I'm replacing with 2 of the 2407s (a three year old Sony 19" LCD) has so much backlight bleed my screen literally looks half white when it's supposed to be black. I'm sooooooooooo glad my wife decided to take that thing off my hands! :)

Don't know the cause, but turning down the brightness also seems to solve this behavior.
 
I have my 2407WFP in MAC Mode (even though I'm on a "PC") for the color setting with the brightness turned down to 12.  This seems to eliminate the above mentioned problem while also doing away with the "retina burn" of higher brightness settings.  Don't know about you, but on the default settings, I would find myself momentarily blinded by the residual image when I looked away from the monitor... can't possibly be good for your eyes...
 
When lowering the brightness in PC Mode, I found that the white backgrounds were looking more blue than I cared for, but switching to the MAC Mode produces more acceptable results at the lower brightness setting.
 
Your mileage may vary, but it might be worth a try.  It may seem a bit dim at first until your eyes adjust to the new setting, but give it a short trial period before deciding to give up on the lower brightness setting.  I find it is quite acceptable and I no longer experience "ghost images" when I look away from the monitor...
