What is diffrence between the 2 20 in widescreen moniters by dell?

ok the other thing is ultra sharp has 16 ms time and other has 5 ms time, how bad is a 16 ms response time? I play games so what would be the diffrence?

I'm not an expert in this subject area, and will state as much up front.  But from what I've seen of the monitor specs here on Dell's site is that there can be two different response times listed:  grey-to-grey (usually the 5ms time) and black-to-white (usually the 16ms time).  So I suggest you make sure you're comparing the same spec for both monitors.  It would be nice if Dell standardized their specs pages a bit more so across-the-board comparisons of this sort were easier for us to make.

I would say the faster time is better, so the smaller the number, the better.  My point was that every monitor (apparently) can be measured for multiple speed criteria, and to be sure you were using the same criteria to judge fairly between the two monitors.  The 5ms you list for one could be the grey-to-grey response time, and the 16ms for the other could be the black-to-white response time, in which case you're comparing apples to oranges, so there is no meaningful "better" time.  I have seen at least one monitor herein rated with BOTH a 5ms grey-to-grey response time AND a 16ms black-to-white response time.  Put Dell to work for you; have them provide BOTH response times for BOTH monitors, and then you've got a basis for comparison.
