When I reduce the resolution, my taskbar disappears
Hi,
I have a Dell UltraSharp 2408wfp 24-inch LCD DVI HDMI monitor. I just connected it today and I'm having a problem with the resolution. Items are way too small when I have it set to the max resolution of 1920x1200. When I lower it one notch to 1680x1050, I lose my taskbar. I don't have my taskbar on auto-hide. I've changed all the other settings in Properties so that I would get the largest view but none of them increased the size other than the normal, i.e., icon size/icon font size, active title bar size/font size, menu size/menu font size, etc, but everything is still very small. I've also incrased the size of text in Internet Explorer from smallest to largest, with almost no visible increase noticeable. When I decrease the resolution to 1680x1050, everything is a perfect size, except that I don't have a task bar.
Is there a fix for this?

I don't have a good answer for you, but I wanted to let you know that there must be a fix for this, because I've got the 2408 and still see the taskbar when I changed the resolution to 1680x1050. Maybe one of the settings you changed in the other Properties caused it?

I'm accustomed to changing settings in properties because I format my computer every 6 or so months. I've been trying different combinations of the settings and nothing has helped. Some print is very tiny and some is normal size too. The icons in my task bar are very tiny. I knew it wouldn't change the size of them from past experience, but I checked the box for large icons anyway, and I was right. The icons in my taskbar are still very tiny, about the size of a 3 pitch.
Hopefully somebody else will think of something. Thanks for replying.
