D:\DISK3

or only one Advanced File type device per partion
D:\DISK1
E:\DISK2
F:\DISK3

Having 3 on the same disk disk/partition is actually not supported and there used to be article on PL about it. Not sure if they have changed that from not supported to not recommended in the meantime, but I believe we already said what you should do :)

My preference would be to create each adv file on a seperate partition which is more manageable. However this can restrict the max file size to the disk partition size.

If the three adv file type are created on the same partitions they will share the total disk space. Note, adv file type is never marked full. When the adv file type device runs out of disk space, the current backup is suspended and a Notification is generated.

If you need to perform staging or cloning frequently, you must take this into consideration as well.

I'm assuming that you will be using the same disk so in effect there will be no performance benefits either way. If that is the case you are probably slightly better off just using one partition.

Hi,

Use separate spindles for each partition - otherwise there is no performance gain to be had.

OK, but I will configure 1 advanced file type device per partition (D:\DISK1, E:\DISK2, F:\DISK3) or 3 advanced file type device per partition (D:\DISK1, D:\DISK2, D:\DISK3)?

The 2 configurations are possible or supported by Networker?

Tahnks,
Fernando
