Autoclean not working

Is the auto-cleaning in Networker setup? If so, is the cleaning tape in the designated cleaning slot?

I have always found it better to setup the automatic cleaning on the library console instead of in Networker.

Auto cleaning Slots configured in tape library console can be different from Networkwer.
Check that they are the same. OR setup the automatic cleaning on the library console. TThis is what I use and nerver experience any problem. Also check that Auto cleaning is enabled!!

After a lot of difficulty with a customer's environment or three, I have found that the most reliable approach to take with library device cleaning is to configure the actions within the library and to disable the functionality within NetWorker.

Care should be taken when configuring the library to ensure that there are library configured slots to hold cleaning media before NetWorker is configured. This will also ensure that if you inventory the library, NetWorker will not mount the cleaning tapes "accidentally" and reporting that cleaning media has been loaded.

Also, certain manufacturers of library hardware have specific media load sequences for cleaning tapes and so the relevant hardware docs should be referenced before loading the cleaning media.

There you have it. It's better to use the library's console and setup the cleaning rather than use the Networker feature. I have found it to be much simpler and more effective to do this.

I've noticed the same problem with my environment. I've found if go to the device properties, un-check "cleaning required", click ok, then go back and re-check the "cleaning required" check box manually it will load the cleaning tape and clean the drive. Sorry, no answer. Just a work around without having to restart NetWorker.
