Backup Exchange Public Folder

Question

Hi,

We have started to do server initiated backups of a specific public folder in exchange 2003, using the networker module for exchange. The backup seems to complete fine, however we see the following error message:

Has anybody seen this before, and what could we do about it ?
When we try to restore items from this particular folder that seems to work fine.

Hi,The Networker module for Exchange version is: 4.1.0.148Exchange version is 2003. No we haven't tried with NT backup, this is not possible on this client. What module version? Did you try a test with NT backup to see if you get same issue? Anything in event logs?

I'm not sure if that could help, but there is much newer build of 4.1 module - I would suggest to try that first. What about event logs - do you see anything there?

As far as I could see, it's failing for a particular folder:

[3812] 12/05/06 15:37:18 Access is denied for "http://EXSRVT01/Public/JZ/Overige emails MLD/".

Can you see this folder when you try the restore? Is there any special permissions for that folder?

You can also try to change the saveset to MSEXCH:/PF/Public Folders/JZ/ for each folder you have but the one that is failing and see what happens, only for tests purposing.

Actually, by looking at this again, this seem to be an issue with disabled account (at AD level). At that point no one can access that account thus mailbox backup fails. There is a fix for EX2k3 by MS to change this (KB903158). At least the error message seems to be the same...
