Backup Failed with Error Msg ID 42503
Hi ,
Anybody can help me with below error generated log @on Backup Client? DNS communication looks ok with the Backup Server.
Remote system error - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

It would be good to know what you have done when you received the message (manual or scheduled backup?).
It is also important to know whether the connection has already worked.
Also the NW versions could matter.
Most likely the communications on ports 7937 & 7938 will not work (firewall).
You can check this using "nsradmin -p nsrexec -s " where may represent the NW server or client. You must check this from both sides. Make sure that the program will respond.
Another good tool, available from support ist the NW Health Check Tool (HCT) which almost checks every communication issue.

This is usually a network connection issue. Please check whether ping, nslookup, rpcinfo –p (run on client), rpcinfo –p (run on server) is fine. Also check Hosts files on both the client and server. If other clients backup well, temporally turn off firewall on the client to check the result. If the issue disappears after turning off firewalls, use nsrports to check whether necessary ports are open.

Thanks bingo and Guys for the valuable comments. Ya! It's the issue with ports 7937 & 7938 and managed to resolve after talking to Firewall Tech.
