Backup failing

Not seen this one before - can you post the exact error messages?

Since we are seeing RPC errors and a network connection error I would first look to see if all is well with our name resolution/network. Verify forward and reverse name resolution for the client and server and that all is consistent. I am assuming there is no firewall and that the disk is a locally mounted disk?

Could you provide rpcinfo from client: rpcinfo -p and from NW server: rpcinfo -p ?

The client connection is OK because other savesets within the client are working it is very sporadic as it happens on different savesets each night. These servers are behind a firewall so I have asked one of my colleagues to check the firewall logs. Thanks.

eventually solution esg101442 may help you. In my case it did not, I still search for the right solution.

But my problem is slightly different:

Client initiated backup fail as well.

Not one but every backup fail.

mminfo did not show different clientid's in my case

anyhow I tried the solution, but the automatically populated aliases did not differ from them before.

while writing this text I did this:

stopped nsrexecd on client

started nsrexecd on client

did next backup, and it works now.
