Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I am not sure if it is network problem or not as it is not happening for the same server everyday. Each day there are different servers where this is happening. And if it is network problem then why after rebooting the system the problem generally gets resolved most of the time. We use isolated network dedicated for backup and each server have a dedicated NIC for backup.

I see similar issues in my environment when we overload the nic on the backup server. The actual time of the issue varies depending on how many full backups are running, how many linux, windows backups are running, etc. The actual issue could last just a few seconds, but if a communication is attempted during that time and doesn't complete the backup can fail.
I would imagine the same thing could happen if the nic on the client side was busy as well.
I used DPA to monitor nic throughput during backups and was able to isolate the cause. By restricting the number of streams for one group the issue was resolved

RPC issues usually indicate a network or performance issue.
