backup is getting failed as below error 1 retry attempted
Hi Team ,
We are getting this below error for Windows Filesystem Backup . In this scenario we are only backing up specific drive and specific folder .
But whenever the backup is ruinning we are only getting above error as "1 retry attempted "
Can anyone explore this error in bit details
Thanks in advance

Hi rov
Its correct the client retries is 1 . Should i need to change it to 2 . what will be the effect of this change on my Backup server .
Or what should be the client retries

"1 retry attempted" is a message and not an error. You are seeing this message as you have set client retries as 1 or above in the group properties. You might have to check the error message inside the nsr/tmp/SG/ group_ name to find the actual error message or might have to trigger the group with debug on.

What I miss here is if one retry was made and then this was successful or does it fail at the end? What I would do is change retries to 0 (meaning no retries) to get error message and see why it fails in the first place and then troubleshoot it from there. Without knowing what is the reason for retry, it is impossible for anyone to say what could cause this.

When the retries was 1 it is failing continously . I will try to make it 0 and then rerun it . Will update you once done

Client retries on the group will tell networker as to how many attempts should be done to backup a save set that is failing.
There is no major side affects unless your backups are large in size and fail intermediately. This might cause the next days schedule to be aborted because of the running group to name one, I hope you get the point. There number of retries to be set all depends on you. Analyze the behaviour of the group and set the best number.

Oh, in that case you should already have a error. Can you check what it is? You can go to backup server and see it in a file under /nsr/tmp/ or if running NW8 server that it is /nsr/logs/sg/
