Do you see any error message? Are you performing a flat file backup of DB?
Please provide more details on this.

Backup is done with MaxDB backup API (pipes). Errors are only in the Windows eventlog.

How does this integrate with Networker's backups? Could you elaborate your set up a little more so we can understand the scenario and come up with a solution for you.

There is a Knowledgebase article for this – its reference is 000186174 and can be found on Support.emc.com search.
There is another variable you can set within the Maxdb parameters to cater for this: -
NSR_AVOIDVSSBUG "WITHOUT DOUBLE QUOTES"
