In short words:
Our Backup Server is having two different client IDs and currently we can not do any recovery of the backup server in case of disaster or wrong settings¿ Also the nsrck ¿L7 command does not work for data that are backed up before the 23 Nov. 2007.
Next updated to 7.4 SP 3 should be performed but first we have to solve this problem before we can make update to SP3

Nsradmin shows only one Server clientid (short name clinetid )

nsradmin
type: NSR client;
name: cy-bkp01;
server: cy-bkp01;
client id: 446e303c-xxxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx
scheduled backup: [Enabled] Disabled ;
comment: sun backup server;

Index Path: /var/nsr/index/ne-cy-bkp01.domain.com/cy-bkp01

------------
In-between, we¿ve got from our EMC Support guide how to solve this existing problem. This workaround will probably solve a problem of the Backup Server with two clientIDs but still it will be not the best solution for us¿.
According information from support, merging of index files is not possible because the indexes are tied to client ids¿

if somebody has a simmilar problem here are the steps that we got from Support, and also I would like to here your opinion about suggested solution from our Support,

----------------
.1. Make a zip copy of your /nsr/res and /nsr/mm and /nsr/index before the running the steps below just in case of any problem
2. Rename the server to a temp name and let¿s say ¿Temp¿
This will make your original server as a client to the ¿Temp¿ server
3. Delete the client for the original server from the Temp server console
4. Create a new fake client and let¿s say named ¿Fake¿ with the same clientid of your original NetWorker server (short name clientid)
5. Create again your original server ¿cy-bkp01¿ as a client to Temp server with clientid of the long name
6. Rename back the server ¿Temp¿ to the original name ¿cy-bkp01¿ created in step 5 above
7. Now your server should have the original name and tied to the correct clientid which is the clientid for the long name

8. Because indexes are tied to clientid¿s therefore it will not be possible to merge all indexes under one client but you can as mentioned in my last update to do directed restore from one server to another..

9. Try some backups then try to restore and let me know the results

Since you can't merge it, switch model as suggested before would be the only way to go if you wish to keep both.
