cannot create device; Storage node enabler required

when I deleted some devices from the library and I want to reconfigure them in the console, I cannot do that with the error "cannot create device; Storage node enabler required". i am sure the enabler is enough. what's wrong with it? how to resolve it.

In the SAN, I have 4 servers. One is networker server and the other 3 are storage nodes. There is one tape library with two drives attached to networker server. I have one networker server license and 3 dedicated storage node licenses. All data in the servers will be backed-up to the tape library.
the config is normal for a long time. when I want to reconfigure the devices of the storage nodes, the error that I said happened. Actually, the dedicated storage license wasn't changed at all. I dont know WHY? and How to resolve it?

all the licenses including 3 dedicated licenses are in the adminitrator console. I can delete them and reload them in the console. I can use nsrcap to load them too. With nsradmin, I can see all the loaded dedicated storage node licenses. Why does NW believe I am missing the licenses?

as I said, there are 3 storage nodes and I have 3 dedicated storage node license. all the storage nodes and networker server are connected to the SAN.
Yes, I have tried to use "jbedit" to add the devices, but there would be the same error "cannot create device; storage node enabler required"

If I scan the device on storage node, there will be 2 unconfigured devices on every storage node. If I try to configure them, the error will happened "cannot create device; storage node enabler required".
I have a temp license for SN and loaded it. then I can configure only one storage node, not the others SN. WHY?

Yes, you are right. I just modify the devices to "Dedicated", then I can reconfigure the devices on the 3 storage node.
Thank you everybody giving me a reply.

This error comes only when you configure a remote device without having storage node enabler. You need one enabler per storage node and it is OS dependent.

Do you have Storage Nodes or all drives are connect directly to the Networker Server? Have you tried to add the devices using command line instead of console?

What licenses and devices do you have? As it seems, NW believes you are missing a license...

Are these drives visible to the OS of these storage nodes? May be NW is reporting a wrong error.

Also, if you have some temp. enablers for SN or DSN, try using them. There might me comething wrong with these licenses.

Because you must set in device properties that device is dedicated storage node device - simple as that.

I've faced the similar problem some times ago, too. As I remember right the 'dedicated storage node'-attribute is a device attribute. In my case it worked to enter a storage node evaluation key, creating the devices and change the attribute. Eval licenses can be removed after that as Networker uses DSN licences from this point on.
