In fact, looking at your message again you have an issue with recovery. Could you define the problem a little better - was the backup originally backed up with Solstice and is now trying to be recovered with Networker on LINUX?

Someone already aksed question like this (the same error). Check http://forums.emc.com/jive3/thread.jspa?threadID=29948&tstart=0 and also check KB as there are some good pointers.

In the past I have seen this with:
- older NW code (fixed now)
- mismatch with clientids
- perhaps something else, but I forgot

As you wrote down client info and module do you get this error when you are trying to restore Exchange data backed up with module or we are talking about regular file system data here? The first part worries me a bit if that would be the case (so my next question in that direction would be what is the size of the saveset you are trying to restore or simply is it bigger than 2GB)?

However, given that you have server on 7.2 this could be simply LGTpa72413 (you would get same error as well) so I would say run fast to 7.2.1 at least. That would fix your problem.

I couldn't find any support for EBS under Linux which is hardly suprising since EBS (Solstice) is Sun's rebadged Networker - it traditionally has followed one version behind Networker so if you do have a situation where a configuration is not supported by EBS but is supported by the latest version of Networker then that configuration will eventually be supported...

So we're assuming you mean Networker and not EBS here... As the support matrix states that support for Networker under SUSE Linux 9 is supported only in 7.3 then they will need to install that version, or downrev the OS for the backup server. It may be that an early version will work okay in an unsupported configuration.

Exchange restores like you to be at as close as possible to the original configuration so ensure on your client that you have same OS and service pack level as originally, and Exchange at same level and service pack too, plus if you have installed any additional patches ensure you have those too.

Customer use SuSE9 with the Backup Server Version 7.2
without patch to 7.2.1

He cannot restore only from Exchange his files.
Other restores works fine.

I say to him, that he must update to the version 7.3
I understand the matrix so, that only Version 7.3 is supportet on SuSE9

He will do it.

Your SuSE version has nothing with it - I had customer with 7.1.3 on it and no problem. Just try to install 7.2.1 patch first (both client and server) and see if this is NetWorker related or Exchange module related. If second, it won't change with 7.3. Actually, I would try to put on the client 6.1.4 if I were you (I know that support is gone, but this module is also very old and I have no idea how good it works with recent NetWorker versions).
