Client Name Resolves to same host as existing Networker client

Question

Have an issue with setting up a Networker exchange client for an Exchange DAG. Getting the below error message on the last step. Client name resolves to the same host as existing Networker client . Use as the name for this resource. No matter which host in the DAG I try, the error message is the same.

This smells like a name resolution issue. You you have 2 client definition which obviously refer to the same IP. Consequently NW cannot resolve the name uniquely. And if you just specify another name this will have no effect on the IP address.

Discovered issue was with alias of clients. So after removing the shared hostname of the Exchange hosts from the alias. It was able to proceed.
